Perfection Quest: Many suffer from what I call the “perfection quest”. These are the folks who comment on every cooking I do that I should shop at the farmers market every day to get fresh locally grown produce or grow my own food. Nobody in America holding a 9-5 job has time for this. Many people’s heart is in the right place knowing that unprocessed locally grown food is best but because they dont have time to do it, they dont do anything and just eat highly processed packaged products – its perfection or nothing. Choose your battles carefully because you can only fight so many in this modern world. Much better to eat consistently good basic healthy meals using frozen spinach, canned organic tomatoes, and dried legumes than it is to eat one wonderful organic meal from the local farmers market on Monday and then pizza the rest of the week.

Analysis Paralysis – Also, a lot of people in fitness and bodybuilding suffer from analysis paralysis. There is so much conflicting information that its really hard to sort out. People want to know everything before they do anything. Its an admirable goal but not even PhD researchers understand nutrition, otherwise they would not have told us that eggs cause heart disease or that fat makes you fat. Its great that you are on your quest for information to discover perfect nutrition but in the meantime remember:

The perfect meal does not exist. The perfect nutritional plan does not exist. You can find something wrong with every single food and beverage on the planet, including water. Choose your battles carefully.
