The science behind detox and cleanse diets

There is zero science behind “detox” and “cleanse”. What I am really trying to do is divert google traffic from people selling useless $97 “cleanse products” to my page that will just have them eating vegetables. There IS solid research that shows the health benefits of eating vegetables, and fruits because of their fiber, vitamin and anti-oxidant content. Because my detox/cleanse diet relies on the well researched healing powers of natural foods, it is way more scientific than the snake-oil type remedies.

Easily digestible

People throw the term “easily digestible” around like its a good thing, its NOT!  When we go to the gym, do we bench press with the 1lb dumbbells because they are the easiest to lift? No! We lift as much weight as we can with good form to give our pecs an awesome workout!  Similarly, fiber gives your GI system a good workout, thats why its so good for you. Wonderbread is “easily digestible”. White rice is “easily digestible”. These things are like doing a dumbbell press with 1lb dumbbells.  A lot of time people stay away from high fiber foods like beans and vegetables because they dont want to “pass gas”.  Farting is the sign of a properly functioning digestive system!  Not farting means you are ill.  Not only does fiber fill you up without any calories but it has many health benefits as well. Fiber can lower chance of cancer. Fiber allows good bacteria to thrive in your digestive tract which helps prevent cancer. Yes, fiber causes a little gas and when you start eating it, it can upset your digestive system until your body becomes accustomed to it.
