I commuted by bike to my dentist appointment today, only took 25 minutes which is 5 minutes faster than I could have driven there because of morning traffic. I got 50 minutes of great cardio instead of wasting 60 minutes sitting on my butt in my car. Biking is “too dangerous” you say? I’ll tell you what is way more dangerous than biking, obesity! Number of biking deaths per year = 726. Number of obesity related deaths per year = 300,000. Now tell me again what is dangerous! I have been bike commuting since 1989 without a single accident, it just takes defensive biking and the proper route which is rarely the shortest route.
