In Charlottesville, Virginia the White supremacists chanted “Jews will not replace us” – well, honestly we Jews don’t WANT to replace you! White supremacists are white males disillusioned with the system, and rightfully so as it has failed them. They are often blue collar, unemployed or under employed, and have little education beyond high school. The demise of the middle class has hit this group hard because good paying blue collar jobs are basically gone. White supremacists lash out at Jews, blacks, and immigrants which is misdirected anger.
We Jews are not interested in replacing white supremacists flipping burgers at McDonalds, strip mining coal, picking lettuce in the field, or waiting in the unemployment line. There is a very good reason that we Jews are in the highest paid jobs in the country – it’s because we are highly educated and have an incredible work ethic. For Jews, learning is not limited to high school or college, in fact, that is just where learning begins. No matter how old they are, Jews are constantly learning new programming languages, history, mathematics, statistics, physics, as well as learning more about their own religion. Jewish culture fosters learning and academic pursuits. Jews are not smarter, simply harder working. Jews believe in the “10,000 hour rule” which states that to become an expert in any field requires 10,000 hours.
The easy answer is to blame the unpopular minorities just as Hitler did. Jews are not the problem. Blacks are not the problem. Mexicans are not the problem. Hispanics are not the problem. Muslims are not the problem. The problem is that our American system is frickin’ screwed up! Our blue collar jobs are gone and there is no way for good people to support their families. Blaming minorities will not solve the jobs problem. What WILL solve the problem is to TRAIN people for well paying jobs! Nobody should have to accrue $50,000 in debt to become a plumber, electrician, accountant, or solar installer. It is simply CRIMINAL that our free public educational system does not prepare people to earn a good living in the trades. The European Union and Scandinavia take a common sense approach to education. Not everyone is destined to be a university professor or engineer, why cant we acknowledge this in America? EU and Scandinavian countries have a two track high school system – you can prepare for an academic career or you can learn a trade that will give you a high paying job. The trades typically involve the time honored apprentice program where after learning the basics, they apprentice to a master craftsman for a few years until they themselves can become a master earning as much as professors teaching physics.
White supremacists out there, stop looking for easy answers and look for the REAL answer. The real enemy is those who would deny you free job training for the skilled trades. Point the finger at those politicians who deny you the vocational training you deserve to make a good living!
