Sanitizing the cause of Zyzz’ death does nothing to honor him. Zyzz is hero to a generation and rightly so, the only other somewhat comparable story I can think of is Arnold Schwarzenegger.
I get VERY tired of this, people telling me “how Zyzz died”. We do not have a cornorner’s report, a toxicology report, or any other reliable information. All we have is a press release from the family. The cause of death is very commonly white washed and sanitized to provide comfort to the family. Please stop telling me “how Zyzz died” because nobody other than the family knows, and they aren’t talking.
I certainly did not know Zyzz, but my guess is that he would not want people thinking he was some poor, innocent victim of an “un-diagnosed heart condition”. Zyzz was proud. Zyzz was alpha. Zyzz created YOLO. My guess is that Zyzz would be pissed if he knew people were trying to make him come off as some poor little innocent victim. He lived on the edge and he took chances.
His mother, who is a cardiologist, reports that her son had an un-diagnosed heart condition, have you ever stopped to think about that one? Doctors typically are very diligent about the health care of their kids, especially in their specialty. How is it that the son of a cardiologist never took a stethoscope to her sons chest or had him follow the most basic advice ever which is to get a full medical checkup before starting any exercise routine? Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
Maybe Zyzz did have a heart condition, undiagnosed or not, doesn’t matter. Typically people don’t die from “un-diagnosed heart conditions” unless something triggers it – running a marathon, deadlifting 900 pounds, intense emotional stress, stimulant overdose, etc. I have been to Bangkok many times and I can tell you that if there is any place on the planet where you can obtain things that would trigger a heart condition into a life threatening emergency, its Bangkok, Thailand. Teens typically do not vacation in Bangkok to meditate and do yoga, they go their to party their brains out.
This entire post was because of the exasperation I felt from the dozens of people in the below video telling me that “Zyzz died from an un-diagnosed heart condition”. It also points out a really important point that nobody seems to have learned from, the importance of getting a checkup before starting an exercise program. Why is it that the son of a cardiologist never took a stethoscope to her son’s chest or had him follow the most basic advice ever which is to get a full medical checkup before starting any exercise routine? Have you done this? Why not? Are you somehow so physically superior to Zyzz that this couldnt happen to you??
