Although I do not yet have carb cycling automated in my new cool new custom meal planner, you easily do it manually. My carb cycling program is a four day repeating nutritional cycle of three very low carb days followed by one medium carb day. Here is how you can do it with my new custom meal planner that lets you select your favorite foods:
- day 1 – keto meal planner set to a with a 25% caloric reduction set as the goal in step 6
- day 2 – keto meal planner set to a with a 25% caloric reduction set as the goal in step 6
- day 3 – keto meal planner set to a with a 25% caloric reduction set as the goal in step 6
- day 4 – medium carb meal planner with a 10% caloric reduction set as the goal in step 6
- repeat
If you can, sync day 4 with the day you do a heavy leg workout or your endurance cardio.
Carb cycling is a diet, not a nutritional plan. It has a very specific, special use for people who already have bodyfat under 9% who want to fool their bodies into allowing them to drop down to 5% type levels without losing muscle mass. If you are not trying to get scary-ripped for a photo shoot or a competition then the low-carb diet has no benefit for you whatsoever over just using the low-carb nutritional plan, or the medium-carb nutritional plan and those are a lot easier to maintian long term.
