June 17 marks the first day of the holy month of Ramadan, and if you are a bodybuilder or athlete, it requires some changes in strategy. I got my first tiny taste of what it must be like to fast for a month in the final 7 days before my men’s physique competition. I know what I did was laughably easy compared to what is required during Ramadan but it does help me relate to the stresses put on the body and how to cope with them.
