I havent talked about the airplane I am building lately but because COVID cancelled all my travel plans I have had a lot more time to work on Dotty and she is almost ready for first flight. I started building in 2001 and the first 14 years of construction were in our two car garage, then I moved her to a hanger for 2 years to do the work that required a lot more space. What you are seeing here is my husband and I moving her from the hanger back home to our garage for the final 3 years of engine work. Moving an airplane is not exactly easy and this truck was certainly not idea but we made it work. In two weeks, I will be moving her to a rural airport for her inspections and then the first flight. If all goes well, I will have a first flight in October.
Some will say this sounds dangerous but you also have to look at the risk reward ratio for me. This is one of the biggest accomplishments in my life and the first flight is a validation – I am willing to die for this, and if I do, you will see it on livestream :)
